Professional Interests

Educational leadership, professional development, instructional design/design for learning in online and blended education, adult education, international initiatives, community building, continuing education; educational analysis and research, web accessibility, text and digital narrative, games for learning, mobile technologies.

I work as a Director, Learning Design and a Sessional Lecturer in the Faculty of Education (FoE) at the University of British Columbia, Vancouver (Canada). I provide consultative services and leadership in the application of learning technologies. I am responsible for comprehensive plans, policies and strategies in the delivery of the FoE’s blended and fully online courses and programs. I support innovation in pedagogical practice and elearning design. I manage ongoing operations of Education Technology Support (ETS) unit as well as various projects related to both domestic and international educational programs. I teach in the Master of Educational Technology (MET) program at UBC.

My specific focus is on online collaborative and communication strategies, student engagement, different delivery models and culturally-responsive instruction. My projects are in the areas of ePortfolio implementation, accessibility issues, Aboriginal education, Mobile technologies, and others.

I obtained my undergraduate degree in English Language and Literature at the University of Novi Sad, Yugoslavia (now Serbia), my Master’s in Distance Education from Athabasca University, Canada and a Ph.D. degree in Language and Literacy Education at UBC, focusing on ethics in gameworlds.
